Climbing Pinnacle Schedule

Improve your balance and develop your core muscle strength. Join climbing classes or climb on your own. Our 27-foot climbing pinnacle with 8 Belay stations offers climbs rated from 5.4 to 5.10.

There is a $3 equipment rental fee for all non-members who use FWCC climbing equipment for open clime or other climbing activities. Visitors can bring their own climbing equipment, if it meets safety requirements. Parent permission form required for all participants under 18. Liability form required for all participants.

*Open Belay times are for individuals 18+ who have taken an passed the FWCC Belay Certification Course.

Belay Certification Course - get more climbing time in for your friends and family by becoming a certified belayer.  Course includes knoy tying, belaying techniques and set-up, belay commands, fall simulation, climbing technique instruction and a follow-up test.  Ages 18+ only.  Final test will be administered the Friday following the course and full competency of the course material must be demonstrated at that time.  Becoming belay certifed will give you access to our "Open Belay" times.  Belay Certification times are: Fridays 7:00-8:00 p.m. on Jan. 6th, Feb. 3rd, Mar. 2nd and April 13th.

Intro. to Climbing (Ages 13+) - is climbing something that you have been interest in trying out?  Have you climbed before but wanted to get more out of it?  If so, INTRO TO CLIMBING is for you.  This class gives you the skills to be a better climber and enjoy this alternative workout.  Intro to climing also satisfies a prerequisit to be belayed by a "belay certified" member or guest.  This class is great for teens and adults.
Intro. to Climbing Course times are:  Fridays 7:00-8:00 p.m. on Jan. 13th, Feb. 10th, March 9th & April 20th.

All Federal Way Community Center Rock Climbing participants must have a risk/liability waiver form on file at the community center. All children under 18 must also have a completed parent permission form on file before climbing.
